Elizabeth is a fourth-year Animal Science & Management major at UC Davis. She has been a veterinary assistant at Mercer Veterinary Clinic for the Homeless since her freshman year and is currently an Undergraduate Coordinator for the organization. She intends to apply the Peace Corps Master’s International Program through UC Davis to pursue the Preventive Veterinary Medicine program.
Ruta is a veterinarian from India who recently shifted her base along with her husband to Davis, CA. She earned her Bachelor’s in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from MAFSU, India and her Master’s in Wildlife Science from TANUVAS, India. She’s pursed an advanced course in Chemical Immobilization of Free-ranging wildlife in South Africa and she later on worked as a Wildlife Veterinarian until before coming to Davis. She’s worked majorly with hoof-stock and Royal Bengal tigers. An avid traveler and birder, she is currently in the process becoming licensed in the United States so that she may practice here.
